چکیده

A comprehensive investigation on diesel pilot spray ignited methane-hydrogen (CH 4 –H 2 ) combustion, tri-fuel combustion (TF), is performed in a single-cylinder compression ignition (CI) engine. The experiments provide detailed analysis of the effect H concentration (based mole fraction, M H2 and charge-air temperature (T air behavior, stability, cycle-to-cycle (CCV) engine performance. results indicate that adding from 0 to 60% shortens delay time (IDT) duration CA90) up 33% 45%, respectively. Thereby, helps increase indicated thermal efficiency (ITE) by as much 10%. Furthermore, gain an insight into stability CCV, short-time Fourier transform (STFT) continuous wavelet (CWT) methodologies are applied estimate CCV TF process. reveal pressure oscillation can be reduced dB/Hz 50% when < T 55 °C. However, > 40 °C, abnormal knocking observed. • study has been conducted were parametrically their effects transfer method was employed stability. adopted assess variations.

Combustion Characteristics of a Diesel-hydrogen Dual Fuel Engine

Among the alternative fuels, hydrogen shows great potential in the near future. In the present study, hydrogen utilization as diesel engine fuel was investigated. Hydrogen can not be used directly in a diesel engine due to its autoignition temperature higher than that of diesel fuel. One alternative method is to use hydrogen in enrichment or induction. To investigate the combustion characterist...

CFD Study on Hydrogen-Air Premixed Combustion in a Micro Scale Chamber

This paper reports a CFD modeling study to investigate the hydrogen-air mixture combustion in a micro scale chamber. Nine species with nineteen reversible reactions were considered in the premixed combustion model. The effect of operational and geometrical conditions including; combustor size, wall conductivity, reactant flow rates and hydrogen feed splitting on combustion stabilit...

Numerical Simulation of Premixed Turbulent Methane Combustion

In this paper we study turbulent premixed methane flames with swirl using three-dimensional numerical simulation. The simulations are performed using an adaptive time-dependent low Mach number combustion algorithm based on a second-order projection formulation that conserves both species mass and total enthalpy. The species and enthalpy equations are treated using an operator-split approach tha...

Combustion and Emission of a Compression Ignition Engine Fueled with Diesel and Hydrogen-Methane Mixture

The present study conducted experimental investigation on combustion and emission characteristics of compression ignition engine using diesel as pilot fuel and methane, hydrogen and methane/hydrogen mixture as gaseous fuels at 1800 rev min. The effect of gaseous fuel on peak cylinder pressure and heat release is modest at low to medium loads. At high load, the high combustion temperature and hi...
